BGBA Vice President Mr. A.K.M. Saifur Rahman represented the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) at the seminar titled “Strengthening Local-Global Synergies in Yarn and Fabric Trade.

The 23rd Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2025, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics discussing the future of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
We are proud to share that our Vice President Mr. A.K.M. Saifur Rahman represented the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association in the Seminar entitled “Strengthening Local-Global Synergies in Yarn and Fabric Trade.”
Mr. Saifur Rahman, in his very enlightening speech, focused on some key areas related to the sustainable development of the RMG industry: Research & Development: Emphasize innovation to stay competitive in the global market. Marketing & Negotiation Skills: Enhancing the ability to negotiate for better prices of Bangladeshi products. Sustainability & Diversification: Looking into man-made fiber products and sustainability responses to the global demand for the same.
He further stated that the RMG sector had faced many challenges, such as worker unrest and bottlenecking in infrastructure. Mr. Rahman again pointed to policy support, green factory initiatives, and the empowerment of SMEs as the key drivers for sectoral growth.
The seminar also called for a ‘Reform Commission’ to be formed to address the unresolved challenges in energy, transportation, and financial systems so that this sector could attain its ambitious target of $100 billion in exports by 2030.
BGBA is committed to fostering collaboration between government, private entrepreneurs, and academicians for the sustainable development of the RMG sector.
